Father in laws birthday weekend we try to go camping every year. They have a 22' enclosed camper and all that. I borrow my dad's pop up camper. And this weekend a few things broke.

Kinja'd!!!

the awning bag zipper broke and now won't close & when removed that was the sight of the top (got any suggestions on how to fix?) . I don't think it's ever been removed. & The exterior door handle broke where one could barely grasp it. And a plastic tab on one of the canvas support poles broke, but still usable.

The AC worked great though. And the new tires on the wife's car are awesome. So quiet. And now I can hear all the rattles that will need attention soon.

yes, its nice. But when a 5th wheel camper & dodge diesel mega cap pulls up and parks along side, I ask what am I not doing right.

oh, and the zipper was stuck and I pulled to opposite side to close, then bam, the damn thing pretty much exploded and ripped the zipper off the seam and both pieces apart.

I think I'll just get a 4-6" PVC pipe on the top or bottom & slide the awning in that. The top all cracked up is the biggest problem.

I am sure a awning company or a auto top upholstery place would be able to sew it all up for a agreeable price. me I just got a needle and thread for my ghetto miata top when the zipper came apart. If you have more time than money one of these might help

I've been looking at used pop up campers for the past few months, and one of the sellers was including a sewing awl for patching up the zippers and loose threads in the canvas.
